How do beauty pageants empower women?

I'm a government whip and I didn't get enough information in my last question. Please help me. I'm the pro side. How do beauty pageants empower women?
Beauty Pageants are very empowering.

For months you train to speak as eloquently as possible, improving your public speaking and vocabulary for you interview.

You train your body physically to be in the best shape possible, which is an incredible confidence booster.

Pageants recognize women who are confident and graceful. For the talent portion, you get to showcase something you're good at, which is a great feeling as well.

Pageants involve training and preparation across the board - mental, physical, emotional.. You involve yourself in the community, volunteer, earn sponsorships, etc.

When you walk up to registration, you are as put together as possible in almost every category of your life. You look more beautiful than you may ever again. You feel the spotlight and hear the applause. It's all just very empowering..

EDIT -

1. Women who exploit their bodies are the highest paid females in the world. So don't judge them or act like they're stupid. (Not that I think that's a good thing)

2. Don't sit there and act like pageant contestants are stupid because the competition involves the swimsuit portion. Many of the women who compete are extremely intelligent and good people. Women responding hatefully just sound like they're not pretty enough to feel they deserve to enter a pageant and are bitter about it.How do beauty pageants empower women?
Yes, of course they are good. If not for all these fictitious pageants where would we get the high quality food service workers that the world relies upon. Now I'm not talking fast food I mean the really good quality places like Hooters, Red Robin and Applebees. No we need pageants the scholarship money they earn helps them through junior college and gets them their 2 year degree's in valued subjects like sociology, a key skill when taking orders and walking just the right way to make your *** bounce pleasingly.
They can empower females by giving them confidence in front of crowds, allowing them to develop posture, manners, people skills, talents, etc. They also encourage them to develop areas other than beauty (talent competition, knowledge and manners for the interviews). They also get to meet other women.
They are called ';Scholorship Contests';. Your on the pro side of what?

Edit: Since you feel you have enemies, you have not sustained the very personal empowerment that you wish to dispell in others. Your first step is to realize that you only have yourself as an enemy. Unless you are a sponsor, I fail to see why you should care one whip about this topic.
What is this, indoctrination education?

Why aren't you debating how beefcake competitions empower blokes?

What a lot of stupid nonsense ... 'empower women', what rot.

Oh you're way prettier and you can wear high heels AND a swimsuit at the same time, you win! Put this sparkly thing on your head and smile! Don't you feel so 'empowered'!

What does that even mean?
last I checked they didn't
