When are you suppose to apply a beauty mask?

before or after you go through your cleaning routine.

The best time to apply your mask is right after thoroughly cleansing the skin.

I recommend clay masks such as Pascalite, French Green Clay and Kaolin Clay for deep cleansing. Do not add any extra ingredients to your clay mask...just clay and water. Other ingredients can interfere with the ion exchange in the clay and reduce its cleansing effect.

If you want to nourish and moisturize, using ';food'; type masks is a great way to get important ingredients in a fresh state. Pureed avocado, egg white, homemade mayo (use olive oil!) and pureed fruits make wonderful natural treatments for a variety of skin types and conditions.

If you want an exfoliating mask, powdered green papaya is the perfect solution. Mix it with a bit of yogurt or kefir and leave on for 5-10 minutes, depending on your sensitivity level.

The enzymes found in abundance in green papaya digest dead skin cells and allow pore extractions to be much more effective. It also makes your skin feel very soft and gives it a smooth appearance with continued use.

I recommend a deep cleanse or exfoliating mask once a week. You may use a nourishing ';food'; type mask daily, if you like.

Once you rinse off your mask, apply an alcohol free, natural toner such as Miessence followed by your moisturizer. Coconut oil is a natural, highly effective moisturizer and skin treatment that WILL NOT clog pores or cause acne.

It helps kill off bad bacteria and fight infection and also has a gentle exfoliating effect. Additionally, it will not harm the good bacteria that live on the skin and protect you from infection.

I recommend Nutiva organic vuirgin coconut oil as a moisturizer. You may combine it with lavender or chamomile essential oil for added therapeutic effect.

Enjoy!
