Why is it that some of the prettiest girls I know, can't see their own beauty?

Are they humble or insecure? Why is it that some of the prettiest girls I know, can't see their own beauty?
Sometimes the pretty girls you see have not always been so ';pretty';. Some girls are late bloomers, and have grown more pretty as they got older. Remember the story about the ugly duckling who turns into a beautiful swan? Same thing happens with some pretty women: when they look in the mirror, they still see the ugly duckling they used to be, instead of the beautiful swan they have become. They are still insecure, and as you know, almost everybody has a distorted view of themselves, even the pretty ones.Why is it that some of the prettiest girls I know, can't see their own beauty?
Men carefully try to make the prettier girls insecure so that later they will be satisfied with us even when we're out-of-shape and unemployed.

On a more serious note I know a lot of beautiful girls who CAN see their own beauty without being immodest. I would say that whoever you are referring to probably has difficulty taking a compliment.
They come in two types. One is truly insecure, a common problem among women, and they don't know what men are looking for in terms of beauty. The other type knows just how hot they are and they are fishing for compliments. Some people just can't get enough attention. Watch your girl friends for a little while, and you will soon figure out which ones go in which camp.
i have a friend who is absolutely gorgeous but constantly feels that she needs to make herself look better for this guy that she likes. she never feels good enough for him. but every guy i know thinks shes beautiful. i dont get why she doesnt see it.
i would say insecure. a lot of girls say they are ugly or point out their flaws for attention.

';I'm so ugly, my hair is so trashy.';

';No, you are pretty, your hair looks great';
They probably have it covered over in too much make-up.
Apparently (according to people who know me), I'm one of those girls.
Not everyone cares to be vain.
its like that with all ';pretty'; girls
