Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

what does this mean? does it mean beauty is subject to opinion or that the person in question can only be beautiful if they think they are? i don't get it. also, do you think it is true?Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
Yeahh...I believe it to be true.

I take the quote as...

Two people could look at the same person and have a different opinion on them. If you choose to look at them with love and look at them for their internal greatness, you might see them beautiful where as if you look at someone merely for their outward appearance and are quick to notice flaws, they might not appear beautiful. Basically....when you look at someone else or yourself, look at them with love...you can make them appear beautiful if you look at their internal wealth.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
That means that everyone sees things in a different way. What you find beautiful I may find ugly hence the phrase ';Beauty is in the eye of the beholder';. I guess I would say it is subject to opinion everyone has different taste. You can think you are beautiful and believe it, but I may have a completely different view. I may not be looking at the same person you are because I'm looking deeper than the skin. ';Beauty is only skin deep';.
This is referencing the fact that outer beauty is not everything. Ones inner Beauty like intelligence,Personality,

Since of Humor, out look on life ETC. It also refers to Physical appearance. SOME like 36-24-36 ETC. personal Preference

This is its true meaning to me.
This quote means that beauty is different for each person. One may person may think a gnarled tree is ugly because it's all twisted and deformed, while another person may see the gnarled tree as beautiful because the deformity and twisted roots reveal ';a story,'; (the gnarled tree makes a person wonder what had happened to it to make it looked that way.)

And yes, it means beauty is subject to opinion.
Beauty is subject to opinion. Beholder means the person who is beholding or the person looking. I think it's true, people have different ideas of what is beautiful.
it means that beauty is an opinion, i could think that sumone was pretty and u might think their ugly. yea, i do.
It means the the definition is relative unto who is viewing, whatever. For example, there was a young French gale, whom the town folk considered common, normal, and maybe just a wee bit ulgy. However, Hollywood saw it differently. Today, we know her as Sophia Loren.
It means that beauty is a matter of opinion. It's all subjective.

Yes, I think it's true.
Everyone has a different view of what beauty is. What one person sees as beautiful, another may not.

I believe it's true. There is no set definition of beauty.
