Well, I have been in a bueaty pageant;won, and I truly am not pretty. They usually don't look for much bueaty as much as they judge your walk, interview, etiquette, precision, and manners.

Hello. First of all there is no universal definition of ugly. The judges in the question might not think that the people are ugly at all. What is beauty in one eye but disgust in the opposite. So whatever you think is ugly might not be what everyone else thinks is ugly, however you know this. I am sorry for all those hateful answers that have to insult you yet don't even bother to give an answer. They come onto your question simply because you don't share their views. This level of hypocrisy almost disgusts me. Anyway, the way the contestants try to make the judges overlook any flaws is through makeup, practice, aversion, and to accentuate other characteristics so that they don't focus on just that one part. The women/men who participate go through training so that it's not their flaws that people see. But back to the question, it would truly depend on the contest. If it were an inner beauty contest then ';ugly'; people could be beautiful people on the inside. Or if it were an outer beauty contest then ';beautiful'; people could win off their looks. So whatever the type of beauty is in question depends on who will truly win. Unless of course you have corrupt judges who have been paid off, bribed, or convinced. Good bye.
Beauty is as it always has been ';in the eyes of the beholder'; We do not have ';beauty Contest'; per se anymore; they were too demeaning to women. We know place much more emphasis on the other areas of competion besides looks, beauty %26amp; body.

One of the top rating point earning categories is now the ';question'; each of the finalist is askes a question in a sound proof booth. I can't remember if they are each asked the same question or not, but it does often have to do with their ';platform'; You would be amazed @how many top runners, really beautiful women, ladies, girls, really blow it here. If they cannot give a bright articualte answer to a question that concerns one of the top issues our country and government must face %26amp; deal with, whether it be on poveerty, medicare, social secuirty, problems with the public school educational system, civil rights etc., then they slip big time in the poles. They not only have to have a good correct answer they cannot hesitate, they have to enunciate correctly, and they have to be concise, direct and to the point withut being redundant. This may be where you see some of whom you call the ';ugly people'; take the lead. I for one think that just about every finalist is full of both inner and outer beauty. As I said we all have preferences for beauty. You may think a foreign, exotic, oriental woman is gorgeus where I may believe a blonde hair blue eyed southern belle is beautiful and the next Judge may prefer tall brunettes who do not have ';big hair'; get my point?





Beauty pagents are as much about inner beauty, education, the ability to represent our State or the U.S. as the reigning title holder for an entire year as they present themselves in a variety of forums including political, educationsl, social, etc. they have to be poised and able to carry on a mature conversation quick on their feet with answers etc.





Today it is about the whole package, not about who the majority of the judges think is the sexiest. Holsum is in, the girl next door look prevails over a sex kitten.
I don't know what you mean.. everyone is beautiful in their own way, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, its all down to the judges and what they can see... sometimes their personality can shine right through, either way everyone is beautiful i reckon :)
I do not know, no one is perfect, it is obvious that everyone will have some defect. Always try to choose the most beautiful .-
